Dana “Darth” Nessel really wants you to get to know her, she’s leading the lawsuit of 14 states to stop Trump and DOGE. It seems the 150 year old Social Security Vampire recipients, despite their desire for privacy, have rights too.

Darth Nessel Leading 14 State Lawfare Action Against Trump and DOGE

Darth Crashes Into The Chutkan Death Star

Judge Chutkan, who presided over Trump’s X case, seems reluctant to file to temporary restraining order to halt DOGE & Musk’s activity.

Describing the states’ request for a temporary restraining order as “prophylactic,” Judge Chutkan expressed skepticism about issuing a wide reaching order while the plaintiffs struggled to prove a concrete harm stemming from DOGE’s conduct.

“The court can’t act based on the media reports. We can’t do that,” Chutkan said. “The things that I’m hearing are concerning indeed and troubling indeed, but I have to have a record, and I have to make a finding on the facts before I issue something.”

Darth Nessel Suing To Prevent Military Executive Order

“Everyone who puts on a uniform to protect our country deserves our respect and the opportunity to serve,” Nessel said. “Banning transgender people from military service is not only discriminatory but is also harmful to our national security and unconstitutional. Service members and those inspired to serve should feel respected, welcomed and valued, regardless of how they identify. This type of discrimination threatens the well-being of all Americans, and I proudly join my colleagues in standing with transgender military members against yet another dangerous and illegal Trump executive order.”

Social Security Vampires

Apparently life expectancy needs to get it’s update from the Social Security database because we have 4.7 million people who are 100 years old.

One X user pointed out that 2023 data showed the US population at around 334.9 million. However, Musk’s data (likely from DOGE’s ‘Big Balls’ analyst) shows 394 million names in the Social Security Administration database.

If DOGE’s numbers are right, $522B—1/3 of ALL spending on Social Security each year—is fraudulent,” X user Robert Sterling said.

Some math:

US AID Is Making the Sky Fall and Food Insecure

Who knew that US AID was making food secure, and right here in Michigan?  While we thought that the US Dept of Agriculture was the overseer of all things that our farms produced, it seems that US AID ensures that chaos will not rein supreme.  Why does US AID need to buy 2 Billion dollars of US Ag products?

https://michiganadvance.com/2025/02/12/with-trump-and-musk-driving-u-s-policy-kansas-farmers-have-been-played-for-suckers/

We are now living and working in an environment where the only constant is chaos. Chaos produces uncertainty, and that leads to loss of trust. The buyers of U.S. farm products are not going to deal with nations that cannot be trusted.

Take your pick of programs. The Climate Smart programs designed to help farmers monetize carbon reduction practices on their farms are going away. The future of the 45Z tax credit is, well, who knows? What about export assistance programs urgently needed to help U.S. farmers counter the effects of the Trump tariffs and the rise of our global competitors, such as Brazil and India? And how about the price subsidies that featured prominently in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s farm support programs? What happens when the NOAA is defunded?

How about the effect of “soft power” from the programs that USAID has provided in many impoverished parts of the world? By some accounts, USAID buys about $2 billion dollars of US farm products annually. USAID is being dismantled by the dodgy group. To his credit, Sen. Jerry Moran has spoken loudly about this travesty. Others must do the same, otherwise, or our political and economic competitors will fill the gap.

The bigger question: what if those purchases removes grain from our cattle supply, will that drive prices of beef up?

MSU Get 11 Million to Make Food Safe

Food Security Means MSU Grant From USAID?  We should support farmers, but a CIA agency that is focused on foreign development is at odds with Dept of Agriculture goals.  And instead of collecting the money out of the economy and redistributing, don’t you think that farmers and local communities can make a determination what is in their best interests?  And what about the destructive interference of government in markets?

Other State Impact

Representatives from farm advocacy groups and cooperatives say they are hearing similar stories from their members, but most are unwilling to speak publicly for fear of retribution. Many large farm organizations backed Trump’s successful presidential campaign.

“We continue to hear from family farmers and ranchers about the federal funding freeze, which has created significant uncertainty,” said Rob Larew, president of the National Farmers Union, an advocacy group that represents 220,000 farmers and ranchers in 33 states. “The interruption in funding raises concerns about whether USDA will disburse already obligated funds to farmers who have existing agreements with the department.”

The abrupt pause for USAID programs also interrupts agricultural research programs at 19 land-grant university-based innovation labs across 17 states — casting an uncertain future for those projects and the foreign grain markets they are attempting to cultivate.

The Soybean Innovation Lab at the University of Illinois announced last week it will close in April. The closure will have an immediate effect on the staff of 30 experts in tropical soybean and longer-term repercussions on their work to develop an emerging market for soybeans in Africa.

The lab’s director, University of Illinois Professor Peter Goldsmith, said he had to make the hard decision to shutter the lab when they were suddenly no longer able to access any of their grant money or reimbursement systems. They are in the middle of work on a $30 million USAID grant that was supposed to last until 2027.

Michigan Needs Forensic Audits for MEDC:  Founding Member Get 202 Million

Paul Gentilozzi, managing partner of New Vision Lansing, along with the city of Lansing, received $202 million for the Transformational Brownfield Plan.

The plan is estimated to create or redevelop five buildings and bring more than 560 housing units in the capital city over 30 years.

Gentilozzi is a former MSF member, according to meeting minutes from February 2023.

“As of April, 2023, Mr. Gentilozzi is not a member of the Michigan Strategic Fund board,” Otie McKinley, media and communications manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, told Michigan Capitol Confidential in an email. The MSF approves grants and loans for MEDC projects.

Media Worries that Trump Admin Could Hurts Plans to Shutdown Line 5

Line 5, a gas pipleline that supports a $38 Billion in economic activity for the Midwest and Canada, has been a target of Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Dana Darth Nessel.

https://michiganadvance.com/2025/02/17/line-5-opponents-outline-expectations-under-the-trump-administration-amid-ongoing-court-cases/

Amidst the many legal battles opposing Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline continuing their paths through the court, the inauguration of President Donald Trump marks the end of some environmental activists’ efforts to pressure then-President Joe Biden and his administration into action against the pipeline.

Research from the University of Michigan has concluded that the Straits are “the worst possible place” for a Great Lakes oil spill, with strong currents that reverse direction every few days meaning shorelines in both lakes would be quickly contaminated. The pipeline has been dented in three places due to a 2018 anchor strike, with another anchor or cable strike in 2019 damaging the pipeline’s coatings and severely damaging a support, breeding further concerns about the safety of the pipeline

While Enbridge must go through the permitting process with EGLE once more, it is also awaiting a decision from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which announced in March 2023 that it would extend its environmental review for the Line 5 tunnel project. The Corps is expected to issue its draft environmental permit this spring.

However, as oral arguments in Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s case against Enbridge resumed on Jan. 27, Enbridge attorney Phillip DeRosier said that process “may well be sped up under the new administration.”

While Nessel’s department has asked Judge James S. Jamo to declare the 1953 permit allowing the pipeline to operate on the bottomlands of the Great Lakes invalid, Enbridge has called for summary disposition, allowing Jamo to rule against the Attorney General without holding a full trial.

Halting Lame Duck Travesties

At the close of 2024, the Lame Duck Democrats attempted to pass over 100 laws in the final weeks of December.

“Lame-duck sessions have been used to force through controversial policies that wouldn’t stand a chance under the full scrutiny of voters,” Bollin said in a statement. “This reform is about restoring integrity and ensuring that the will of the people guides the decisions made in Lansing.”

House Joint Resolution A, which cleared the House Government Operations Committee Tuesday, aims to amend the state constitution to require two-thirds of lawmakers in each chamber in order t”o become a law.

Assault On Child Identity with Emotion Learning For Gender And Sexual Orientation

https://www.michigannewssource.com/2025/02/post-claims-school-is-teaching-identity-wheel-that-covers-gender-and-sexual-orientation/

An anonymous post on a Livonia Public School Facebook forum from a person claiming to be the parent of a seventh-grade middle school student said the district had an “emotional learning” teacher discuss issues of sex and gender with the students.

The “Identity Wheel.”

The person posted a study sheet of the “Identity Wheel”, which is an educational tool supported by the University of Michigan’s “Equitable Teaching” division.

“The Social Identity Wheel worksheet is an activity that encourages students to identify social identities and reflect on the various ways those identities become visible or more keenly felt at different times, and how those identities impact the ways others perceive or treat them,” the University of Michigan website states.

The U-M website stated one of the goals of the activity is “to illuminate how privilege operates to normalize some identities over others. For example, a student who speaks English as their first language can reflect on why they rarely need to think about their language as an aspect of their identity while some of their peers may identify language as the aspect of their identity they feel most keenly in the classroom.”
