Russia has promised an “appropriate” response to the new policy, and has engaged in nuclear sabre-rattling by changing its nuclear doctrine in recent days. However, western officials believe the thrust of the Russian response may come not on the battlefield in Ukraine but elsewhere in the world.

 

Potential hybrid attacks could span a wide menu of options, including expanding its campaign of sabotage and assassinations in Europe or further arming US adversaries in the Middle East and Indo-Pacific regions, according to people briefed on the discussions about a potential Russian response.

Russia has begun mass-producing mobile bomb shelters that can protect against shockwaves and radiation from a nuclear blast.

The new ‘KUB-M’ shelters will offer protection for 54 people for up to two days against natural and man-made hazards, Moscow’s emergency ministry has said.

It comes as Vladimir Putin this morning signed off a document to lower Russia’s threshold for launching nuclear weapons.

For them, apparently it’s time to flood Zelensky’s coffers with as much money as possible ahead of the possibility that Trump may cut off the tap, after having on the campaign trail called Zelensky “the greatest salesman on earth”.

“The Pentagon will send Ukraine at least $275 million in new weapons, US officials said Tuesday, as the Biden administration rushes to do as much as it can to help Kyiv fight back against Russia in the remaining two months before President-elect Donald Trump takes office,” The Associated Press reports Tuesday afternoon.

Walmart is telling customers that prices of some items could rise in their stores if President-elect Donald Trump‘s plan to hike tariffs takes effect.

The warning came from the company third quarter earnings results, which saw the retail giant post 5.5 percent revenue growth, along with a 27 percent surge in global ecommerce sales.

‘We never want to raise prices,’ Walmart CFO John David Rainey said on the earnings call on Tuesday. ‘Our model is everyday low prices. But there probably will be cases where prices will go up for consumers

In the latest unconfirmed report from “people familiar with the matter,” President-elect Donald Trump is expected to nominate veteran Wall Street financier Howard Lutnick to head up the Commerce Department – days after the Cantor Fitzgerald CEO was reportedly passed over to lead the Treasury Department.

Lutnick, who has the backing of several prominent allies including Elon Musk, has been a fierce advocate of Trump’s economic proposals – including a pledge to impose sweeping tariffs.

If confirmed, Lutnick would oversee the agency focused on ‘expanding US economic growth and boosting domestic industries,’ the Wall Street Journal reports.

Breitbart News wrote in its exclusive article that its sources stated that the Pentagon is in “absolute disarray” with “generals scrambling” because Trump plans to fire far-left senior military leaders who pushed DEI and other woke policies instead of taking care of combat readiness.

The US Department of Justice is reportedly planning to ask a federal judge to force Google’s parent company, Alphabet, to sell off its Chrome internet browser, potentially marking one of the biggest tech industry crackdowns in the US in decades.

On August 5, US District Judge Amit Mehta, Washington, DC, ruled that Google violated antitrust law by spending billions of dollars to create an illegal monopoly as the world’s default search engine on smartphones, computers, and tablets. The ruling paved the way for antitrust enforcers to submit a 32-page document about potential remedies for the judge to consider.
