The World Economic Forum is calling for more direct action to end the pending food crisis.  Amazing how that is timed with Oregon and Idaho water restrictions and Michigan Avian Flu crisis.  Want fries with the grasshopper burger?

159 Voted Against Laken Riley Law

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/159-democrats-voted-against-laken-riley-bill-detain-criminal-illegals

The legislation requires the Department of Homeland Security to detain illegal immigrants who have committed certain crimes, such as theft, burglary, or shoplifting.

It also allows states to sue the federal government for injunctive relief over “certain immigration-related decisions or alleged failures” if they resulted in harm to that state.

These can include the failure to detain an individual who has already been ordered to be deported, or neglecting to fulfill vetting requirements for immigrants seeking to enter the United States.

“The tragic and preventable murder of Laken Riley serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of failed leadership,” Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said at a press conference before the vote.

“The Laken Riley Act is a direct step toward ensuring that criminal illegal aliens are swiftly and permanently removed from our communities and our country,”

The bill passed the House last year but was never brought to the floor by the Senate. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) noted that 170 House Democrats had voted against the passage of the bill at that time, saying he felt they had “put politics ahead of principle.”

Protecting Jack Smith: Fed Judge Blocks Release of Classified Doc Report

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/jack-smith-preparing-final-report-trump-case-could-be-released-days

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon on Tuesday blocked the release of a special counsel’s final report into President-elect Donald Trump, pending a decision by an appeals court.

The order bars special counsel Jack Smith and the Department of Justice (DOJ) from releasing the report until the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals reviews a motion submitted by Trump’s co-defendants.

“Pending resolution of the Emergency Motion filed in the Eleventh Circuit … Attorney General Garland, the Department of Justice, Special Counsel Smith, all of their officers, agents, and employees, and all persons acting in active concert or participation with such individuals are temporarily enjoined” from releasing or transmitting the final report, Cannon’s order stated.

Attorney General Merrick Garland “has not yet determined how to handle the report volume pertaining to this case,” but will commit to not releasing it to the public before 10 a.m. on Jan. 10, the lawyers added.

Smith will not transmit the report to Garland before 1 p.m. on Jan. 7.

The details by the government came after Nauta and De Oliveira, through their lawyers, urged Cannon to enter an order blocking Smith from sharing the report with anybody else, and from taking any further actions to complete it.

The release of the report, they said, “would directly infringe on Nauta’s and De Oliveira’s Fifth Amendment due process rights, taking on the status of a public form of an invalid new indictment, replete with unfairly prejudicial assertions of alleged offenses going well beyond any assertions in the indictment and other public filings.”

Zuck Admitted Censorship after SCOTUS had a chance to take action

The Federalist Screwed Over By Zuck

We’re Still Waiting For Facebook To Atone For The 11 Times (We Know Of) It Censored The Federalist

But Meta doesn’t just get to erase its years of political censorship with a carefully scripted apology video. Zuckerberg blames “governments and legacy media” for encouraging censorship, but his tech giant willingly complied, throttling dissent at the behest of the federal government. Meta still reserves the right to deal strikes and “reduce the distribution of certain hoax content.”

“When Pages do share something that’s been marked False by a fact-checker, we notify them that their shared post will be demoted, regardless of whether they are the original publisher of that content,” Meta states on its policy enforcement blog.

1. Counter-Fact-Check on Georgia Ballot Counting

Weeks after the 2020 presidential election — in which Mark Zuckerberg meddled to the tune of $419 million, by the way — Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway published a story challenging a “fact-check” about Georgia ballot counting by an outfit called “Lead Stories.” Lead Stories claimed to have debunked the testimony of Republicans alarmed by suspicious events at a Fulton County ballot-counting site. Hemingway contended that the surveillance video in question didn’t debunk their concerns at all.

As soon as Hemingway’s story was published on Facebook, it was marked with a text bubble declaring it to be “Partly False Information.” The story had been “checked by independent fact-checkers,” the label said. Who were the “independent fact-checkers”? Lead Stories, of course!

2. Fact-Checking Facts About Masks

Facebook flagged a Federalist article about the ineffectiveness of masks against Covid after one of its sketchy third-party “fact-checkers” deemed it “inaccurate” and “misleading.” Science Feedback claimed in an email to the Federalist that the article misrepresented the study’s findings even though “Danish researchers found that there was no statistically significant difference between wearing a mask or not in preventing people from contracting COVID-19.”

Mollie Hemingway – Ethics reports on Alito and Thomas are lies

The Democrats falsely accused Justices Thomas and Alito of violating ethics laws by not disclosing vacations with friends and not recusing from cases because of their spouses’ activities. They are wrong on both counts.

Justices Thomas and Alito complied with the laws, regulations, advice, and Judicial Conference rulings regarding reporting trips with friends. They were not required to report these trips under the personal hospitality exemption outlined in the law, no matter what the leaders of this witch hunt, Democrat Sens. Dick Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse, claim or wish.

When the Judicial Conference, which was established by law to administer the ethics laws for the federal judiciary, changed its rules in March 2023 and excluded from the personal hospitality exemption trips on private planes and boats, Justice Thomas promptly reported such trips.
