To be clear, the range of activities that Wen believes the government should deny to the unvaccinated is incredibly broad. And while it’s true that there’s no right to use a specific means of travel, the U.S. Constitution absolutely enshrines the right to engage in interstate travel more generally. If the unvaccinated were not allowed to take public transportation, travel to other states, or go outdoors, then the government would not be giving them the “choice” to stay unvaccinated in any meaningful sense.

The first was a March 2020 paper in the journal Nature Medicine, which was written by five prominent scientists, and which declared that no “laboratory-based scenario” for the pandemic virus was plausible. But we later learned through congressional subpoenas of their Slack conversations that while the scientists publicly said the scenario was implausible, privately, many of its authors considered the scenario to be not just plausible but likely. One of the authors of that paper, the evolutionary biologist Kristian Andersen, wrote in the Slack messages, “The lab escape version of this is so friggin’ likely to have happened because they were already doing this type of work and the molecular data is fully consistent with that scenario.”

Oakland County has confirmed the first case of measles in Michigan this year, raising concerns about potential outbreaks and the importance of vaccinations.
An Oakland County resident has been infected with the first known case of measles this year in Michigan, and health officials are warning that other people may have been exposed at a Rochester restaurant and a local emergency room.
Test results Friday confirmed the case of measles in an adult who had recently traveled overseas, said Kate Guzmán, Oakland County health officer.
Guzmán would say little about the individual who was infected, citing confidentiality concerns. The person returned from traveling on Feb. 27, developed symptoms on March 3 and then the tell-tale rash last Saturday, March 8. Twice, the resident sought treatment at Henry Ford Rochester Hospital emergency room and was admitted Tuesday on the second visit.
Texas Measles Fatality From Ventilator?
That little girls measles were starting to go away, she said. The face had cleared up.
Right. There was only a few little spots. She had had normal measles. And they took her into hospital. And it says here, just to get her checked out. Now, I think many of us have heard that line before and the other stories we did during Covid. But they really wanted to just go and get her checked out. Her temperature was spiking a bit. Of trouble, but she says. The mother actually says it wasn’t anything bad, just something I. Was concerned about the doctor had given her. This is before they knew Ben Edwards. Remember, everybody, the doctor had given her cough medicine and Tylenol.
And then when they got to the hospital. I’m just summarizing up what they said in this, and then Brian’s going to talk us to it. She had pneumonia in her left lung. Just a little, says the father. And she was drinking a lot to start with. She wanted a drink, but once she was ventilated. They were not allowed in to be with their six children. I can’t imagine leaving your six year old daughter on a ventilator in hospital. Mother can imagine that. The hospital, then rented them a hotel room, which I’ve never heard of in all the Covid stories that we’ve done. They sedated her, intubated her. The last thing she said she was thirsty. And that’s when the mother broke down, because the mom wanted to give her water, but they wouldn’t let her have water, which is to me really odd again. We heard this again. In the many stories we did on the road that these people are terribly thirsty and they’re not allowed to. This is the Covid pneumonia.

House Republicans are giving Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson 10 business days to hand over basic training documents her department told one lawmaker would cost $9,000 and require 140 man-hours to produce.
House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. Jay DeBoyer, R-Clay Twp., is sending a letter to Benson and the Michigan Department of State she oversees demanding the release of basic election training information provided to election clerks and stored on the Bureau of Elections E-Learning Portal.
If that doesn’t happen, DeBoyer plans to follow up with a subpoena.
