How Are the Russian Sanctions Working Out?
Somehow the Russians connected with Hunter Biden are excluded from latest sanctions. How could that be?
The omissions came the same day Delaware US Attorney David Weiss was elevated to be a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden for tax fraud and related crimes after a probation-only plea deal collapsed last month under scrutiny by a federal judge.
It’s unclear why Baturina and Yevtushenkov have not faced sanctions, despite their qualifications at least superficially resembling those of other Russian oligarchs who have been targeted.
Baturina transferred $3.5 million on Feb. 14, 2014, to Rosemont Seneca Thornton, a corporate entity associated with Hunter Biden and his then-business partner Devon Archer. The House Oversight Committee said this week that bank records show that most of that sum was later transferred to a different entity called Rosemont Seneca Bohai, in which Hunter Biden held a 50% stake.

In response to Friday’s announcement of a special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation top House Democrat Jamie Raskin of Maryland conceded on Sunday that Hunter did a “lot of really unlawful and wrong things.“
“This is why we have a Justice Department. Let’s just let them do their job,” said Raskin.
Hunter Special Counsel – Great Article By Margot Cleveland
Hunter Biden’s trial regarding tax fraud required a Special Counsel because negotiations between parties broke down after July 26. We were assured that Weiss would not slow walk nor obstruct this investigation. But is Weiss who removed IRS whistleblowers from the team of investigators. Jumping venues also seems to be a tactic of delay, and Weiss being appointed Special Counsel has not placed him in position of independence.
But there was nothing about the collapse of the plea agreement that should have triggered the appointment of a special counsel: It neither created a conflict of interest nor constituted “extraordinary circumstances” because Weiss could have filed charges in D.C. or California by virtue of another federal statute, 28 U.S.C. § 515
…
That Weiss gave Garland cover, allowed the DOJ to apparently interfere in the investigation, entered a sweetheart deal with Hunter Biden, and removed the IRS whistleblowers from the investigation renders him incapable of serving as an independent special counsel.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in an interview with The Washington Post that efforts to “twist the arm of election officials to get them to turn over secure information” are illegal. She said it is important for law enforcement to act “not just to hold accountable those who have been trying to interfere with the process, but to look at the connectivity to see if there is a broader connection, not just in our state, but beyond Michigan to Georgia and Ohio and other states where you see this happening.”

In Colorado, the Mesa County clerk, Tina Peters, was indicted in March on charges stemming from her effort to allow allegedly unauthorized people to copy the hard drives of voting machines in her county. Peters has denied wrongdoing. In Coffee County, Ga., a cybersecurity executive named in the Michigan case, Benjamin Cotton, said in court filings that he gained access to the county’s voting system information. In Pennsylvania, the secretary of state ordered the decertification of machines in Fulton County after she said they were improperly accessed by individuals seeking to investigate the 2020 election.

In Act 22, for example, Willis cites a Dec. 3, 2020, tweet from Trump telling his followers to tune into One America News Network (OANN) to watch state legislative hearings on Georgia’s elections. According to Willis, this constitutes “an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy.”
But the incident is hardly the first in which Willis attempts to criminalize free speech. In Act 100, she similarly claims a Dec. 30, 2020, Trump tweet telling people to watch other hearings on the conduction of Georgia’s 2020 election on OANN and Newsmax is another example of Trump furthering this so-called conspiracy.
